Brand Analysis: Guess

21Feb

Guess has become one of most well known fashion brands in the world thanks to their celebrity endorsements including Paris Hilton and Claudia Schiffer as well as their unique form of advertising campaign. Their minimalist black and white adverts helped the small American jeans company to become a global brand very quickly. The company was established in 1981 and their unique designs and ideas propelled them to become a massive fashion label quickly. In just three years the company entered the watch market by producing fashionable and stylish watches that were produced with high quality materials that the company was becoming famous for.

The company was started by two brothers, Paul and Maurice Marciano in 1981 and got off to a rocky start. However they stuck to it and they eventually sold 24 pairs of jeans to a department store that showed interest in their unique and innovative design style. The store sold the jeans very quickly and the brothers realised that they were onto something big.

Those first two dozen pairs of jeans quickly sold out of the department store and the company grew exponentially from that point on. Guess is now one of the biggest names in the fashion world and they have licensed products that are sold throughout North America, the UK, Europe, South America and Australia.

For the past 20 years Guess has grown to become a huge global company but they have very successful kept their original design philosophy in all their products. The brand has ventured into areas other than just jeans and boasts a range of products that include denim, perfumes, cosmetics and watches, all made with their unique designs and high quality materials.

The watch range produced by Guess include watches for any occasion or personal style and each watch illustrates the unique design philosophy of the company while ensuring that the materials used are high quality.
